Dear All:
The good folks at Tor/Forge report that the following titles have been distributed to Kindle, Nook, Sony, Apple and the other major eretailers of books. Many of you have been waiting impatiently, and we apologize for the incredibly long wait while all the parties to the contracts worked things out. (After this we could probably negotiate Middle East peace!)
Now availible:
THE BETRAYAL
THE ATHENA FACTOR
SAND IN THE WIND
THIS WIDOWED LAND
THIN MOON COLD MIST
PEOPLE OF THE WEEPING EYE, PEOPLE OF THE THUNDER, PEOPLE OF THE NIGHTLAND and PEOPLE OF THE SILENCE.
The Longhouse series: PEOPLE OF THE LONGHOUSE, DAWN COUNTRY, BROKEN LAND.
IT SLEEPS IN ME, IT WAKES IN ME, IT DREAMS IN ME.
CHILDREN OF THE DAWNLAND
We are told that PEOPLE OF THE MIST and PEOPLE OF THE RAVEN will be released on May 11, 2012.
Macmillan expects to have another ten titles fully converted and released by the end of the month.
And yes, we promised to have COMES A GREEN SKY and FRACTURE EVENT, the books with Maureen Cole, cameos by Dusty Stewart, and introducing Skip Murphy, would be avilable by the end of March. Our agent informs us that negotiations with someone called Argo-Navis for complete distribution are on-going.
As an update, we’ve been told but can’t verify that the SPIDER books, RAISING ABEL, and DARK INHERITANCE, as well as the three Forbidden borders books, REQUIEM FOR THE CONQUEROR, RELIC OF EMPIRE, and COUNTERMEASURES have had their conversion errors fixed. Amazon Kindle has told us that anyone who downloaded the error-filled versions can download the fixed versions for no charge. If you have problems, let us know and we’ll do our best to address the situation with Amazon.

Any chance these books can be made available to those of us that have bought the paper back but would like to read them on our iPad or phone without having to rebuy the electronic book

Dear Eva: Sorry, but the ebook distributors set the price for the downloads. It’s kind of like when you buy the first copy in hardback and want the paperback version so you can read it on vacation. You’d still have to buy the paperback. Thanks so much for contacting us. Read in health!

I have loved your “People” series so much I have bought nearly all of the hardbacks. I have just now bought all the ebooks on Amazon (super excited when I noticed I could get them on my Kindle). Question-so when will People of the…. Fire, Earth, and River be availble?
Thanks for all the hard work you put into your books.

Nancy: Macmillan is slowly but surely releasing the entire PEOPLE series on Kindle, Nook, Sony, and I-pad. From our understanding, the entire series should be out by the middle of June.

When is the People of the Forest going to come out? I have 2 more books to read in the series and would love to be able to read People of the Forest.

Dear Emily: Tor/Forge retitled PEOPLE OF THE FOREST and published it as DAWN COUNTRY. It was released in December 2011 in paperback. Publishers do these things and leave the rest of us confused.

Thank you for the info. Can you tell me if there are any books after The People of the Longhouse.
June 13, 2012 at 12:41 pm
emily: There are. DAWN COUNTRY and BROKEN LAND have already been published, and the fourth and final book of the PEOPLE OF THE LONGHOUSE series will be called, PEOPLE OF THE BLACK SUN and will be published in October of 2012. Thanks for writing to us. If we didn’t have dedicated fans, we couldn’t keep producing stories.

Hello! I have been slowly converting all of my People hard copy books into the e-format. It’s been very exciting to have some of my favorite stories available for Kindle.
That said, you should know that as I re-read them I see so many errors that simply don’t exist in the hard copies, i.e., misspelled or incorrect words, oddly placed punctuation, numbers or slashes in place of letters, etc. My suspicion is that this has happened somehow during the conversion of the older novels (Wolf, Fire, Earth, River) and that no one bothered to do a final read-through, which would have brought the issue to light. (As you can see, I am re-reading them in th eorder they were published.) There were also mistakes in Sea and Lakes (my absolute fave) but not to the extent of the previous novels.
I only bring this to your attention in the hope that Amazon or the publisher can fix the errors. They are such wonderful stories to read time and again, but these problems take the reader out of the story completely.
Thank you so much for _such_ a wonderful series! You have brought me hours of reading pleasure. I look forward to future publications.

Kelly: They’re both coming. In fact, they should be available by now. Check again.

Kelly: Yes, Amazon managed to fill them with errors when they did the conversion. They’ve been told about the problem and informed us that they’d fix them. Thanks for the update. And please, if you have any complaints, we urge you to take them directly to Amazon. Maybe they’ll listen to a customer.

Hello!!!!! I have just started re-reading the People series, when I ran into them for the first time I read them out of order now that I have the whole series (cant wait for the next one!!!! ) I had to start over!!!! I just have a question for you…. in People of the Fire…. the Stone circle of White Calfs…. would that be refering to THE Medicine Wheel in the Big Horns???? I grew up in Lovell & have always been drawn to the Medicine Wheel, even now when I get the chance to go “home” there is ALWAYS a trip to the Big Horns & of course to the Medicine Wheel. After looking at the maps & re-reading “Fire” I just had to ask!!!!!
I also wanted to tell you that I LOVE the Visitant series…. I especially like the way the whole series goes back & forth in time!!!!!! I’m hopping that you both will write more that flip time in that manner
Thanks for all your good books & the HUGE amount of time that each book takes you!!!!!

Linda!
Hello from Wyoming. It’s really dry here and the skies have been filled with smoke for months now. Thanks for writing. We know that stone circles date back to great antiquity, and many had spiritual uses. While the actual Medicine Wheel is relatively modern (perhaps only a thousand years) people built similar sacred sites for millenia. And Linda, we’re still writing all kinds of things. If we could find a publisher who would buy more Dusty and Maureen books, we’d certainly sell them. Meanwhile, be well and read in health!

Thanks for responding!!!! I hope the Buffalo are well in spite of the smoke filled skies, I live in Utah & we also have had smoke filled skies for far to long… I love that you care for the Buffalo it is so important that we do not loose what they are & what they have provided for so many for so long. I am now re-reading People of the Earth & still finding many refreances to the Big Horn Basin, & Thermop….. next time I make it “home” I’d love to come by & visit your ranch…. is that a possibility? do you allow folks to come by?
I didnt relize that the Medicine Wheel was so “new” but that does not change the pull it has for me!!!!
Again Thanks for responding!!!
