The CSU Hall of Fame Awards–pics!
On February 28, 2015, Kathleen O’Neal Gear was inducted into the California State University Alumni Hall of Fame, the black-tie affair was held in Bakersfield, California. The Hall of Fame recognizes alumni whose careers have brought honor and distinction to the university. Kathy was recognized both for her contributions as an archaeologist and as an author.
We had a great time. The Alumni committee did an amazing job with the ceremony, and it was wonderful to see old and dear friends, Dr. Jackie Kegley and Dr. Stafford Betty. Also! Joining us for dinner were our friends Kat and Larry Martin, both excellent authors of romances and westerns. We were also celebrating that Kat’s latest book had just hit the New York Times bestseller list for the 4th week in a row! CONGRATULATIONS, KAT!

We are so delighted with this cover for our upcoming non-fiction essay on Vikings in North America. You see, they did not set sail into the blue emptiness. They had legends of a fabulous alien land to the West, and they were determined to find it.
The Perfect “Writer’s Bag!”

We just found the perfect “writer’s bag.” It holds an Ipad, a book, and a good chunk of manuscript. It’s made of buffalo leather and superbly designed by Merlin’s Hideout in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Not only that, the shoulder strap is wide and sturdy, so it distributes the weight better, and doesn’t feel heavy. (which Kathy really appreciates) We love this store. Everything is handmade from top quality leather. We’ll be carrying our Writer’s Bag on the next trip stuffed with the first 250 pages of the Book II in the People of the Morning Star series.
Hope all is well in your world. It’s starting to feel like autumn here, with temperatures in the mid-thirties at night, but lovely 70 degree days.
